Black Swan Event

“Black Swan Event - high-impact event that is difficult to predict under normal circumstances but that in retrospect appears to have been inevitable.” (Britannica 2024)

Historically, the saying came about because it was presumed for many years that all swans were white – until black swans were discovered in Australia, as depicted in the illustration accompanying this blog.

A classic example of a black swan event was the CoVID19 pandemic.

There is another such event coming, which will take many people unawares:

“For you know quite well that the day of the Lord’s return will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night.”  (1 Thessalonians 5:2 NLT)

This event will indeed be high-impact as described above. However, unlike the pandemic, it will be something positive.

Jesus is coming to bring justice, peace and beauty to our earth.

At the very end of the Bible Jesus said, “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done.” (Revelation 22:12 NIV)

We don’t have to be taken by surprise – it’s all there, in your Bible!
